Countering Reliance Jio’s Netflix plans, Bharti Airtel has announced its new prepaid plan that also comes with a complimentary Netflix subscription. The new prepaid plan is the first from Airtel to include a Netflix subscription. Until now, only postpaid and Xstream Fiber plans used to offer Netflix at no additional cost, reports TelecomTalk.

Airtel’s new plan that comes with a Netflix subscription is priced at Rs 1,499.The plan is now listed on Airtel website and is available for recharge for all customers across the country. The plan can be availed via Airtel’s website, Airtel Thanks app and across other recharge platforms.
Airtel Rs 1,499 Netflix plan: Benefits
Airtel’s Rs 1,499 Netflix plan comes with 84 days of validity. It offers unlimited voice calling, 100 SMS per day, 3GB of daily data and unlimited 5G data to users. Apart from that, the plan also includes Airtel Thanks benefits such as Apollo 24|7 Circle, free Hellotunes and Wynk Music.
Do note that once the data quota is over, the plan converts into unlimited data at the speed of 64 kbps. Also, the SMS charger after the 100 free SMS is Rs 1 for local and Rs 1.5 for STD.
Does the Rs 1,499 Airtel Netflix plan make sense?
The Netflix (Basic) plan is priced at Rs 199 per month. The Airtel plan comes with 84 days of validity which is almost three months. The total cost of a Netflix subscription is around Rs 600 for three months.
The plan costs Rs 1,499. Without the Netflix plan, it would have cost around Rs 900 and for that price, the benefits appear to be reasonable. Considering, Airtel offers a Rs 999 plan that offers 2.5GB daily data, no Netflix, unlimited calls and 100 SMS per day.
