Mohanlal has struck gold at the box office with his latest courtroom drama, ‘Neru.’ Amidst a streak of underwhelming films, the actor’s stellar performance in this gripping narrative has not only enthralled his dedicated fan base but also captivated general audiences, marking a comeback for the acclaimed actor.

Released on December 21, ‘Neru’ made an impressive mark globally, raking in an estimated opening collection of around 6 crores. Early reports indicate that the film earned a net of 2.80 crores in India on its debut day, predominantly from Kerala, according to Sachnilk website.

The detailed breakdown of the movie’s first-day Malayalam occupancy across different showtimes and regions paints a promising picture. ‘Neru’ witnessed a substantial overall Malayalam occupancy of 54.37%, with morning shows recording 44.90%, afternoon shows at 38.47%, evening shows at 61.53%, and night shows topping the charts with a staggering 72.57%.
Highlighted by significant regional performances, ‘Neru’ garnered impressive occupancy in key areas, with Kochi at 63.25%, Trivandrum at 50.50%, Bengaluru at 40.25%, Kottayam at a staggering 80.75%, and Hyderabad at a solid 80.00%.
Directed by Jeethu Joseph, ‘Neru’ has been receiving a shower of positive reviews from audiences, hailed as Mohanlal’s noteworthy comeback after a string of films that failed to meet expectations, including ‘Monster,’ ‘Aarattu,’ and ‘Alone,’ among others.
