- Click on the More options button (three vertical dots) next to the conversation.
- Select “Spam & blocked”.
- Find the contact you want to report and click “Block and report spam”.
As on Android, this action both blocks the contact and reports the conversation as spam to Google.
Some important things to keep in mind before reporting spam:
- You can also report spam messages within a conversation. Open the conversation, long-press the specific spam message, and select “Report spam”.
- Don’t forget to delete the reported conversation after reporting it.
- Be cautious if a message asks for personal information or money. These are common red flags of spam or phishing attempts.
