Rohit exemplified exceptional leadership by leading the team from the front, earning acclaim from all quarters for his fearless batting.The Indian skipper concluded the tournament as the second-highest run-scorer, amassing 597 runs in 11 matches at an impressive average of 54.27.His remarkable performance included one century and three fifties.
After India went down to Australia in the World Cup final in Ahmedabad, Rohit was seen getting emotional but the crowd left no stone unturned to lift the morale of their disheartened skipper by chanting ‘Rohit Rohit’.

Rohit was also named the captain of the ICC’s Team of the Tournament after the conclusion of the World Cup, with a total of six Indians including the Player of the Tournament, Virat Kohli, featuring among the XI.
