Salim Khan, the father of Bollywood actor, Salman Khan has broken his silence on the gunfire incident that took place outside his home in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Amidst reports that claimed that the veteran script-writer is considering shifting base to live in a safer location, he put up a brave front and assured all that there was nothing to be worried about.
In a statement shared by the star, he told CNN News 18, “There is nothing to tell. They just want publicity, there is no need to worry.”ETimes had learnt that Salim was not one to let the shooting incident scare him as he went out for a walk shortly after the incident.
A source said, “Salim Khan is not perturbed at all and carried out his routine as always. The family is very cautious and careful. Salman Khan is safe and sound and is with them.”

Since news broke of the shooting, fans have been gathering outside the actor’s residence to show their support. Meanwhile, the

Mumbai Police have heightened security around the actor’s residence and reportedly deployed 15 units to nab the two shooters. Meanwhile, an FIR was registered under section 307 of the Indian Penal Code and 3(25) section of the Arms Act.
According to the latest reports, the bikers went towards the Western Express Highway. The bike allegedly used in the firing incident has been recovered by the police. Reports state that there is a possibility that the men would have fled outside Mumbai.

Notably, while the actor received multiple death threats over the past month, he did not receive any threats prior to the firing incident on Sunday.

In a statement to the media, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde described the shooting as an “unfortunate incident.” Addressing the alarming events that transpired in the early hours of Sunday morning in Mumbai’s Bandra area, the CM pledged that the two unidentified individuals responsible would be apprehended, and strict actions would be taken against them.
