CM Eknath Shinde held a discussion with police commissioner Vivek Phansalkar and directed him to increase Salman Khan’s security.
Calling the incident “unfortunate”, Shinde said: “I spoke to the police commissioner and other officers and told them to take care of Salman’s security. I personally spoke to Salman too and assured him of stern action against those involved.”
NCP (SP) MP from Baramati Supriya Sule said the incident indicates state home ministry’s failure.Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Raut concurred: “…law and order has broken down across state”
City Congress chief Varsha Gaikwad posted on X: “…If such an incident can happen at the house of a person with such high security, then what about the common people?”
Amid opposition’s allegations of failure of law and order, deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, who also holds home portfolio, said: “Truth will come out after probe… it won’t be right to speculate & interpret the incident as a breakdown of law & order.”
