RAIPUR: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, during an election rally in Geedam, Dantewada, ahead of the upcoming polls on April 19, drew a parallel between the Congress party and the extinction of dinosaurs. Singh criticized Congress for internal conflicts, corruption, and misgovernance, expressing confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party‘s (BJP) future in Chhattisgarh.
Singh predicted the decline of the Congress party, likening it to the fate of dinosaurs, during his speech in support of Bastar Lok Sabha candidate Mahesh Kashyap. He voiced his belief that the younger generation might question the relevance of Congress in the next five to ten years.
Describing Congress as ‘rusted iron,’ Singh anticipated its extinction in Chhattisgarh after the 2024 elections. He criticised Congress leaders for their internal strife, comparing it to conflicts seen in the ‘Big Boss’ TV show. Singh also highlighted misgovernance and corruption under Congress rule, emphasizing the BJP’s commitment to development.

Expressing gratitude to Chhattisgarh voters for their recent support to the BJP, Singh praised their contribution to India’s progress. He highlighted BJP’s transformative impact in Chhattisgarh since its establishment as a state, dispelling initial doubts about the party’s governance capabilities.
Singh accused Congress of fostering corruption and scandals during its tenure, including what he termed as ‘cow dung scams.’
Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedication to a prosperous India, Singh expressed confidence in BJP’s prospects in Chhattisgarh. He predicted the ‘demise’ of Congress while highlighting the party’s respect for tribals.
During another election rally in Balod to endorse Bhojraj Nag, the party candidate from Kanker seat, Singh praised the BJP government in Chhattisgarh for its development initiatives over the past 15 years.
He also remarked on India’s improved global standing and the government’s commitment to national security. Singh expressed admiration for PM Modi’s role in positioning India as a global leader, referring to him as a messenger of God for India’s transformation into a ‘Vishwa Guru.’
Assuring the public of border security, Singh emphasized the military’s readiness to defend against external threats. His speeches underscored BJP’s developmental achievements and commitment to good governance, resonating with the electorate.
