NEW DELHI: Pakistan fast bowler Junaid Khan stirred controversy once again with his critical comments aimed at Virat Kohli. After Mumbai Indians‘ dominant victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where Kohli struggled to post a commendable score, Junaid took to social media to aim another dig at the former Indian captain.
Kohli’s early dismissal, scoring just three runs off nine balls with a strike rate of 33.33, led Junaid to share cryptic post on X (formerly Twitter), seemingly mocking the Indian batsman.

“Strike rate 33.33 (face without moth emoji),” wrote Junaid.

This is not the first time Junaid has been found critical of Kohli’s batting. “Congratulations Virat Kohli, on the slowest 100 in the history of IPL,” Junaid tweeted after Kohli’s hundred against Rajasthan Royals in 67 balls, which is the joint slowest IPL hundred.
If his knock against Mumbai Indians is chalked off, Kohli has maintained a superb form this season, leading the Orange Cap race with 319 runs from six matches.

However, despite Kohli’s low score, RCB set a target of 196 runs, largely relying on Faf du Plessis’s 61 from 40 balls.

In response, Mumbai Indians cruised to victory in 15.3 overs.
The defeat marked Bengaluru’s fifth loss in six games, significantly impacting their net run-rate and pushing them down to ninth place in the points table.
