Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan had tied the knot in June 1973. The couple got married instantly after the success of their film ‘Zanjeer’ and the rest is history. But Big B and Jaya ji remain one of the most adorable couples, more so because of their height difference which has always been spoken about! But did you know, even Jaya Bachchan used to call her husband ‘Lambu ji’.However, she stopped doing to because of their daughter Shweta Bachchan.
She once said that during an interview with Filmfare, “I used to call him Lambu ji till Shweta started calling him by that name too. I realised it was time to stop.” The veteran actress also reveals that Big B was a hands-on father and more so in Shweta’s case because by the time Abhishek Bachchan was born and growing up, he had gotten very busy. The ‘Guddi’ actress said, “After Shweta was born, we had a maid to help during the day but at night we’d do everything ourselves. In fact, on Sundays Amit would take over. He’d even bathe her.”
While Shweta was born in March 1974, Abhishek was born in February 1976.
On work front, Jaya Bachchan was last seen in Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ alongside Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. At the moment, fans are loving to see and hear her wise words on Navya Nanda’s podcast but the audience surely await to see her on-screen more often!
