NEW DELHI: Defending champions Chennai Super Kings are in top form, having secured two victories in as many matches, and they aim to extend their winning streak as they take on Delhi Capitals in their upcoming clash in the Indian Premier League 2024 at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
CSK currently sit atop the points table.
On the other hand, Delhi Capitals are eager to notch their first win of the season.Led by Rishabh Pant, the team has suffered defeats in both of their matches thus far.
Ahead of the mouth-watering clash between CSK and DC, the defending champions’ social media channels shared a video capturing the arrival of the Men in Yellow, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, in Vizag.
In the video, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, fondly known as Thala among his fans, can be seen meeting a special fan. Dhoni got down from the team bus, shook his hands and greeted that special fan with a smile.

Delhi Capitals are poised to shake up their struggling batting lineup by introducing the dynamic Prithvi Shaw in their lineup against CSK, setting the stage for what could be described as a ‘clash of contrasts’ in Sunday’s Indian Premier League encounter.

In the unpredictable realm of T20 cricket, reputations often count for little, yet in their last four encounters, DC has failed to overcome CSK, suffering defeats by margins of 91, 27, and 77 runs respectively, painting a grim picture.
It’s worth noting that in those three heavy defeats, Delhi’s core team remained largely unchanged, except for their last meeting when Pant was unavailable.
Therefore, a victory against CSK would be considered a major upset in the tournament.
While CSK appears formidable once again, with all facets of their game finely tuned, the Ricky Ponting-led Capitals have struggled, being outclassed in both batting and bowling departments.
