BJD MP quits party, likely to join BJP | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The ruling Biju Janta Dal (BJD) has lost yet another leader with Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab resigning from the party on Friday. There are reports that Mahtab may join BJP.
Mahtab accused Naveen Patnaik-led BJD of deviating from its vision. “There is a limit to one’s patience,” said Mahtab.
His resignation comes on a day the BJP announced that it will not enter into any alliance with the BJD for the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly elections.State BJP president Manmohan Samal had said in post, “we have concerns on many issues related to Odisha-identity, Odisha-pride and interest of the people of Odisha.”
In the recent past, several BJD leaders have quit the party for the BJP.
