NEW DELHI: PM Modi on Friday during a public campaign in Kerala for the BJP-led NDA candidates ahead of the Lok Sabha polls expressed confidence in the BJP winning seats from the state. He asserted that the people of Kerala have endured the consequences of corrupt and ineffective governance, targeting both the Left and the Congress parties.
PM Modi emphasised that the lotus symbol of the BJP would thrive in Kerala this time, suggesting a strong electoral performance. He highlighted the suffering of the people due to the alleged corruption and incompetence of the state government.
Prime Minister Modi added, “The workers of DMK and Congress only know how to cheat and insult women. The people of Tamil Nadu know how the workers of DMK behaved with former state CM J Jayalalithaa. They do politics in the name of women. DMK leaders also questioned our move to bring the Women’s Reservation Bill.”
PM Modi said, “In the last 10 years, we have made all efforts for every category of people in every area as much as possible. We brought back nurses from Iraq who were stuck in a war. We brought back priests who were stuck amid a crisis. During Corona, Indians were brought back from every part of the world because wherever even one Indian was in trouble, our government stood with them strongly. This is Modi yude guarantee”
“In the last elections, the people of Kerala made us the double-digit vote percentage party. And now, our destiny of double-digit seats here is not so far,” Modi said.
He said both the LDF and UDF governments have turned a blind eye to the struggles of rubber farmers and they will benefit only if the cycle of consecutive LDF and UDF governments is broken.
PM Modi added, “Kerala’s culture is connected with spirituality, but UDF and LDF are known for crushing this. The culture of Kerala promotes peace but UDF and LDF believe in political violence. LDF is known for looting through gold, UDF’s identity is from solar power loot. To stop this game of looting, I have come here to seek your blessings.”
“Additionally, the state’s law and order situation has significantly deteriorated,” he said.
The meeting was attended by NDA’s Lok Sabha candidates V Muraleedharan (Attingal), Anil K Antony (Pathanamthitta), Sobha Surendran (Alappuzha), and Baiju Kalasala (Mavelikkara), among other leaders.
In addition to them, Padmaja Venugopal, who recently joined the BJP after quitting the Congress, was also present.
