Taapsee Pannu recently opened up about her absence from Bollywood parties and events and shared her discomfort with the social scene. She also addressed the longstanding presence of Bollywood camps, talking about how they offer privileged access to coveted projects within the industry.
“I was told to send messages to the biggies so they would invite me to their birthday parties. I can’t do that as this just isn’t me. I also can’t stay up after 10 pm as I get up really early in the morning. I don’t drink or smoke; so I don’t know what to do there,” Taapsee told Zoom, citing her inclination towards spending time with close friends rather than unfamiliar faces at late-night gatherings.
Taapsee acknowledged that party appearances often translate into access to industry camps, however, the late-night partying culture is draining for her. She prefers to her commitment to taking the harder route, focusing on her craft rather than socializing.
Taapsee also expressed admiration for her contemporaries, citing Priyanka Chopra‘s achievements and Anushka Sharma‘s career choices as sources of inspiration. She commended Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt saying, “Look at Deepika Padukone, it’s not that she has faced controversies but see how elegantly she straddles this. For Alia Bhatt, we may say she has had things handed to her on a platter, but she is making the most of the opportunities.”

She also criticized the ‘bimbo’ label, asserting that surviving in the industry requires intelligence and resilience. “No actress who is surviving today is a bimbo,” she urged against judging actors solely based on their characters. “I also learnt that one should not judge one’s contemporary’s choices by saying ‘ye to bakwaas kaam kar rahi hai‘. She knows this is what she can do best, she is playing on her strengths,” she added.

Last seen in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki, Taapsee is currently busy shooting with Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor in Udaipur for their upcoming film Khel Khel Mein. Reportedly, the film is directed by Mudassar Aziz and also stars Aditya Seal, and Ammy Virk. However, an official announcement regarding the film’s details is awaited.
