NEW DELHI: New Zealand cricketer Glenn Phillips left fans and teammates alike in awe with a sensational catch during the second day of the second Test against Australia at Hagley Oval, Christchurch on Saturday.
The incident unfolded during the 61st over of the match when Australian batsman Marnus Labuschagne faced a delivery from Kiwi bowler Tim Southee.
Labuschagne, enticed by a ball wide of the off-stump, went for a shot but found himself foiled by Phillips’ lightning reflexes.
Positioned at wide gully, Phillips leapt into action, diving to his right with remarkable agility. Stretching his body to the fullest, he plucked the ball out of the air with one hand, leaving Labuschagne stunned and the spectators roaring in appreciation.
