NEW DELHI: Devdutt Padikkal dazzled with a composed half-century in India’s first innings of the fifth and final Test against England at the scenic Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. Padikkal’s 65-run innings not only bolstered India’s lead but also showcased his immense talent on the international stage.
“Last night was tough. Regardless of when you get to know, there is always going to be nervousness around. I got a message the previous night saying that I could be playing,” Padikkal revealed, highlighting the sleepless night filled with anticipation and excitement.
“I was nervous, it was a tough night’s sleep but it is something you also enjoy at the same time. You live for those days.”The left-handed batsman’s inclusion in India’s squad for the final two Tests came on the back of KL Rahul’s injury, presenting him with a golden opportunity to make his mark.
