Prior to the theatrical release of Siddharth Anand’s Fighter, Bosco Martis, who choreographedSher Khul Gaye‘ and ‘Ishq Jaisa Kuch‘ along with partner Caesar Gonsalves, addressed the issue of not being credited for their work in a social media post. Back in December, when their names were left out from the film’s poster, Bosco publicly criticized the makers for failing to acknowledge their contribution to the songs.
During his conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Bosco discussed Siddharth’s disappointment regarding his social media post.He acknowledged that as it was Siddharth’s film, it was understandable that he might have felt upset despite Bosco’s name being mentioned on Instagram. However, Bosco emphasized that mere mention on social media was insufficient. Bosco, along with Caesar, has choreographed songs for more than 75 films. He explained that while Siddharth may have felt it wasn’t necessary to speak out at that time, Bosco firmly believed that it was crucial to raise his voice. Bosco clarified that his intention was not to target the filmmakers but rather to highlight the importance of crediting choreographers during the promotion of songs in films. He stressed that neglecting to include choreographers’ names could lead to significant oversight and needed to be addressed.

When questioned about the potential impact on their professional relationship, Bosco disclosed that he had informed Siddharth via text before venting his frustrations on social media. Siddharth replied, explaining that it was the studio’s decision to include only a select few names on the poster. Bosco acknowledged that Siddharth may have his own perspective on whether his actions were justified. However, Bosco maintained that he felt compelled to express his opinion on the matter.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s Insta surprise: Bollywood power couple on the road to parenthood!

Excerpts from his lengthy Instagram post read, “My oath to the future of choreographers. It’s been 22 years we have been doing choreography and still find it a struggle to put our names on any promotional material of movies, when the song and dance are celebrated by the nation and also worldwide. Off late we felt the heat when we could not see our names in promotional material of the song where the music director is mentioned and not the choreographer. Hope the choreographers wake up to this and definitely fight for their rights. Long live dancing and entertainment.” He tagged his contemporaries Prabhudheva, Farah Khan Kunder, Vaibhavi Merchant, Ganesh Acharya, Ganesh Hegde, Remo D’souza, Terence Lewis, Ashley Lobo, among others.

The choreographer behind ‘Senorita’ disclosed that actor Hrithik Roshan, who starred in ‘Sher Khul Gaye’ and ‘Ishq Jaisa Kuch’ alongside Deepika Padukone, expressed his support. According to a report by Jagran, Hrithik reached out to Siddharth after reading Bosco’s post. Bosco, known for choreographing songs in films like Bang Bang and War, commented, “Hrithik and I have collaborated on numerous songs, so he understands and appreciates the effort I invest as a choreographer. He recognizes the hard work and dedication involved. Therefore, he supported me because he acknowledges that the success of a dance depends on the choreography and the choreographers, emphasizing the importance of giving them their due credit.”
