NEW DELHI: A trio of young Indian cricketers have achieved new career-best ratings after their impressive performances with the bat in the fourth Test against England. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Dhruv Jurel all scored half-centuries in the series-winning match, leading to their rise in the updated ICC Men’s Player Rankings for Test batters.
While Kane Williamson of New Zealand remains the top-ranked batter in the world, Joe Root of England has climbed to third place after his 31st Test century in Ranchi.

Jaiswal, Gill, and Jurel have also seen a significant improvement in their rankings, with Jaiswal moving up three places to 12th, Gill climbing four spots to 31st, and Jurel rising by 31 places to 69th.

Zak Crawley, the opener for England, has also achieved a career-best rating, moving up 10 spots to 17th on the list of Test batters. He showcased his skills with scores of 42 and 60 against India.
Root, in addition to his century, has made progress in the rankings for Test all-rounders, jumping three places to fourth.
Jasprit Bumrah, India’s pace spearhead, continues to hold the top spot in the Test bowler rankings, despite being rested for the fourth Test. His teammate, Kuldeep Yadav, has made a significant jump of 10 spots to equal 32nd, achieving a new career-high ranking after his four-wicket haul in the second innings against England.

In the T20I rankings, Australia’s Mitch Marsh has risen two places to 15th in the list of T20I batters and 21 spots to 13th for T20I all-rounders after his outstanding performance in the recent series against New Zealand.
Travis Head and Tim David have also made progress in the batting category, with Head moving up 18 spots to 19th and David climbing six places to 22nd.
Josh Hazlewood of Australia has re-entered the top 10 in the list of T20I bowlers, securing the seventh position after a rise of six places. Lockie Ferguson of New Zealand has also shown improvement, moving up 20 spots to 29th in the same category after his five-wicket haul in the series.
The ODI rankings have seen limited changes, but Namibia’s Bernard Scholtz and Gerhard Erasmus have made gains due to their performances in the new ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 cycle.
Scholtz has climbed six places to 11th in the list of ODI bowlers, while Erasmus has improved by eight spots to equal sixth in the ODI all-rounders category. Scholtz’s current position and points tally mark the highest achievement by a Namibia player in ODI cricket.
