Drone technology company IG Drones has secured a procurement order from the Ministry of Defence to provide drones for surveillance purposes. The order entails supplying drone and essential accessories to the Ministry of Defence. The selected drones are claimed to come with industry-first features and enabled with 5G capability and have advanced features and exceptional performance, functioning effectively in extreme temperatures and high altitudes. The drone is capable of vertical take-off and landing and can be effectively used in defense and medical applications
“By providing enhanced surveillance capabilities, these drones act as a crucial asset for defence forces, strengthening operational efficiency at the borders. With the advent of 5G services from Telecom Service Providers (TSPs), these drones now boast enhanced precision control capabilities, allowing them to be remotely operated from a command centre, eliminating the need for on-site presence,” said the company in a statement.
According to the company these drones can be deployed from any terrain without requiring a traditional runway. The drones carry a 10 kg payload, with an endurance of around five hours. Moreover, they are IP67 rated for durability. They can be controlled via a combination of NavIC + GPS navigational satellites, ensuring connectivity remains intact even in the upper range of 50 to 60 in case of failsafe activation.
Bodhisattwa Sanghapriya, Founder & CEO, IG Drones, expressed pride and enthusiasm in contributing to national security through advanced drone technology. “It’s a great moment for us to provide cutting-edge drone technology to our defence forces for high-quality surveillance and other operations in tough terrains. We have thoroughly inspected and tested our Jaga drones to meet much-demanding defence requirements. Our team remains committed to such endeavours and innovation to contribute to the national security.”
