Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Gujarat Giants WPL Live Score: The 2024 Women’s Premier League has kicked off with teams showcasing distinct performances. RCB secured a thrilling victory over UP Warriorz in a last-ball finish, marking a successful start to their season. On the flip side, Gujarat Giants faced a formidable challenge and were outplayed by the Mumbai Indians in their opening match.

Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore found themselves closely matched last season, ending at the bottom of the table with two wins each out of eight games.

Leg-spinner Sobhana Asha’s exceptional spell of 5/22 guided RCB to the victory over UP Warriorz in their first match of the WPL 2024. Sabbinenni Meghana and Richa Ghosh led RCB batting as they slammed fine half-centuries.

RCB skipper Smriti Mandhana, who had hit Tahlia McGrath for a four and six, started off well but couldn’t continue as she was dismissed for a disappointing 13 in 11 balls.

On the other hand, Giants lost their opening encounter by five wickets against defending champions Mumbai Indians.

“We let ourselves down in the first ten overs. Credit has to go to TK (Tanuja Kanwar) and (Katherine) Bryce to get us to a defendable total. We were 20 runs short in the end to make it a challenging chase. Lot to take away from the first innings” – Beth Mooney after the Gujarat Giants’ loss against MI

“The crowd gave us an extra 20 runs in the chase” – Sophie Molineux on the crowd support for RCB during the game against UPW.
