Versatile star Shahid Kapoor has several cinematic gems in his name. However, there have been a few of his films that garnered mixed reviews from the audience, and ‘Kabir Singh’ is one of them.
The actor recently delved into discussions about the film during an interview on ‘No Filter Neha Season 6.’ As aforementioned, despite the movie’s commercial success, it faced mixed responses from the audience, and Shahid Kapoor offered his perspective on the varied reactions.
When asked whether he would alter anything if given the chance to revisit the role of ‘Kabir Singh,’ Shahid confidently stated that he wouldn’t change a thing. He emphasized that his role was to portray the character, not persuade the audience to like it.

“You don’t like Kabir, great. I’m not here to convince you to like a character. I’m here to be the character. That is what cinema should be,” Shahid expressed. He stressed that cinema’s purpose is to initiate conversations, honestly represent society, and encourage dialogue. The ‘Jersey’ fame star highlighted the importance of creative freedom, stating that while diverse opinions are valuable, imposing restrictions on artistic expression makes little sense.

Acknowledging that people may find certain aspects of the film unacceptable, Shahid Kapoor emphasized the need to respect diverse opinions. He asserted his satisfaction with the varied responses and maintained that everyone should be entitled to express their views without attempting to stifle creative expression.

Besides gracing the big screen with his diverse roles, Shahid took over the OTT platform with projects like ‘Farzi’ and ‘Bloody Daddy.’ Recently, he engaged his audience with ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.’ Directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, the movie showed a love tale between a human and a robot.
