The official launch date for the Xiaomi 14 in India has been announced. The smartphone majpr has confirmed this through a post on X, formerly Twitter. Prior to this, Xiaomi had hinted at its collaboration with Leica on the official Xiaomi India X page.
Xiaomi India, in a post on X, verified that the Xiaomi 14 will be released in India on March 7. “Lighting up a path for the coming legend.🌟 #Xiaomi14 is ready to capture all the illuminating moments.Stay tuned! #XiaomixLeica,” said the company in a post. The post has the upcoming smartphone’s image that says “Launching on 7th March 2024”

India availability of Xiaomi 14
It is likely that the phone will be available in India a few weeks after its global launch and several months after its unveiling in China. Based on a teaser from Xiaomi, it seems that only the standard Xiaomi 14 may be released in India. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra and the Xiaomi 14 Pro might not be launched in the country.
Xiaomi 14 likely features
In China, the Xiaomi 14 comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and a 6.36-inch LTPO display with 1.5K resolution and an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. The Indian model is expected to have similar features. It could come with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The camera system of the Xiaomi 14, developed in partnership with Leica, includes a 50-megapixel main sensor with OIS and a Summilux lens in China. It also has a 50-megapixel telephoto camera and another 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor. The device has an IP68 rating and a 4,610mAh battery that supports 90W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
Global launch of Xiaomi 14 series at MWC 2024
The global launch of the Xiaomi 14 series is slated for February 25, during the Mobile World Congress (MWC). The handsets were initially unveiled in China in October 2023. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is also set to be launched in China on February 22.
Earlier this week, Xiaomi also announced that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be unveiled in China later this week. The Ultra model will feature a 1-inch 50-megapixel Sony LYT900 sensor with an f/1.63 aperture and a Leica Summilux optical lens. It will also have dual telephoto cameras that use 50-megapixel Sony IMX858 sensors.
