Suhani Bhatnagar, known for her portrayal of young Babita Kumari Phogat in the Aamir Khan-led blockbuster film Dangal, passed away on February 16. Real life Babita attended her prayer meet.

Babita took to Instagram to share two pictures from the prayer ceremony. In the first photo, she can be seen solemnly praying for the departed soul with folded hands.In the subsequent photo, she stands alongside Suhani’s grieving parents, who are visibly emotional.

Sharing glimpses of the ceremony, Phogat wrote in Hindi, which translates to, “After the unfortunate demise of Suhani Bhatnagar, who portrayed my childhood role in the film Dangal, I visited her residence in Faridabad to offer my heartfelt condolences to her bereaved parents and mourn her loss. Om Shanti.”

Following Suhani Bhatnagar’s passing on February 16, Babita also expressed her condolences on social media. She shared a collage of the late actress and wrote in Hindi, “It’s incredibly heartbreaking that Suhani Bhatnagar, who portrayed my childhood character in the film Dangal, has left us at such a young age. I’m in disbelief; this news has shocked me!! May God grant peace to her departed soul, and may her family and fans find the strength to cope with this loss during this difficult time. Om Shanti.”

Aamir Khan’s production house was quick to extend their heartfelt condolences to her entire family. They wrote, “We are deeply saddened to hear about our Suhani passing away. Our heartfelt condolences to her mother Poojaji, and the entire family. Such a talented young girl, such a team player, Dangal would have been incomplete without Suhani. Suhani, you will always remain a star in our hearts. May you rest in peace.”
Suhani’s father reportedly revealed that the actress was admitted to AIIMS, where she received a diagnosis of a rare autoimmune disease called dermatomyositis. Unfortunately, her immune system suffered severe repercussions after undergoing steroid treatment to address the ailment.
