The much-anticipated rom-com ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,’ featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, has made a promising start at the box office with its day 1 advance bookings.
The film has secured an estimated total of Rs 13.15 lakh from the sale of 4,733 tickets, gearing up for a successful run with 1,520 scheduled shows. Regionally, Maharashtra takes the lead with a collection of Rs 4.67 lakh, closely followed by Delhi with Rs 4.05 lakh. Chhattisgarh secures the third position, contributing Rs 1.51 lakh to the film’s impressive initial earnings.

‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’ narrates the tale of a computer engineer, portrayed by Shahid, who finds himself enamoured with a humanoid robot, played by Kriti and goes on to marry her.

During a media interaction, Shahid expressed the need for cinema to show things that aren’t usually possible. Taking references of films like ‘Mr India’ and ‘Robot’, he said, “When ‘Mr. India’ was released, nobody in the audience thought of something like that, but it did well; it’s one of our iconic films. We didn’t ask the makers that ‘this is not possible in real life, so we should not attempt telling a story like this.'”

He continued, “There are many films like that in Indian cinema as well, the best example is the Rajinikanth starrer ‘Robot.’ I feel, in cinema, we should show those things that are not possible in real life. The audience only cares if a film is well-made; if it is, the audience does show its love for the film.”
The film, set for a release on Friday, February 9, will enjoy a solo run at theatres with no new Hindi film releasing on the same day. It also comes in time for the Valentine’s Day week, thus setting it up for a successful run at the box office.
