NEW DELHI: Shikhar Dhawan‘s personal life is in complete turmoil and the discarded India batter now revealed his struggle to meet his son Zoravar in the last five to six months.
In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Dhawan shared insights into his bond with his son, expressing his desire to offer the paternal affection that his child rightfully deserves.
“When I used to visit my son in Australia for a week, he used to meet me only for a few hours. I want to spend quality time with him, want him to sleep in my arms, I want to hug him tight, give him the father’s love he deserves. I haven’t had a word with him for the last 5-6 months,” said Dhawan.
The left-handed batter continues to remain positive despite facing challenges and still holding onto the hope that one day his son will be by his side.
“I’m still positive and sending love to my son. I want him to be happy, hopefully one day if God wants, he’ll be back with me,” Dhawan added.
In October last year, a Delhi court granted divorce to Dhawan citing “cruelty” inflicted upon the renowned Indian cricketer by his estranged wife Aesha Mukerji.
Last month, Dhawan made a shocking revelation, saying he has been blocked from contacting his nine-year-old son.
Dhawan shared an emotional post on Instagram on his son’s birthday, shedding light on the challenges he faced following his unsuccessful marriage with wife Aesha Mukerji.
