RANCHI: Sudden political and administrative uncertainty hit Jharkhand Monday morning as ED officials reached chief minister Hemant Soren’s residence in New Delhi. No official communication was released either by the state government or central agency about Soren’s stay in Delhi or ED sleuths turning up to question him.
What officially transpired back home, was a meeting convened by chief secretary L Khiangte to review law and order situation in the state, where Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has already planned a Raj Bhavan march to demonstrate solidarity with their leader—Soren and condemn ED actions against the CM.
Conforming the meeting convened by chief secretary, director general of police Ajay Kumar Singh said that adequate deployment is being provided at 30 sensitive places including the CMs residence and ED office. “In the wake of the developing situations we have beefed up security arrangements and adequate deployment is being provided,” he said.
In the meanwhile all ruling legislators are coming to Ranchi. Congress spokesperson Rakesh Sinha said that the MLAs are reaching Ranchi voluntarily. “There can be a few rounds of meetings to assess the situation,” he said.
Central general secretary cum spokesperson of JMM is about to address the media, while BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has expressed doubt that the CM might be absconding. He took to X to express his opinion about the advocate general giving misleading advice to the CM.
