Thanks to a nifty integration with macOS, Shazam is now readily available right from your Mac’s menu bar, making song identification smoother than ever. - Navigate to Control Center: In the System Preferences window, click on “Control Center.”
- Enable Music Recognition: Scroll down to the “Music Recognition” section and click the checkbox next to “Show in Menu Bar.” This will add the Shazam icon to your menu bar.
Things to keep in mind
- Play the music: Make sure the song you want to identify is playing on your Mac or through your speakers.
- Click the Shazam icon: Look for the Shazam icon (a stylised lightning bolt) in your menu bar. Click on it to activate Shazam.
- Listen for the Shazam magic: Shazam will listen to the music for a few seconds and then display the song title and artist information in a pop-up window.
You can also click on the Shazam icon and hold down the Control key to view your recent Shazam history.This is a great way to keep track of all the songs you’ve identified throughout the day.
If you have Apple Music, you can click on the “Open in Apple Music” button within the Shazam pop-up to instantly add the identified song to your library.
