Elon Musk-owned social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter)has confirmed fixing a bug that was affecting some posts on the platform. According to a post shared by the company, it announced about fixing a bug that caused the platform to incorrectly label numerous posts as ‘Sensitive Media’. As per the company, the vulnerability in its system flagged multiple legit accounts.

What the company said

The company posted: “A bug in our system caused X to incorrectly label numerous posts as Sensitive Media. We’ve fixed the underlying issue and are now working to remove labels from impacted posts.”

“All impacted posts have been fixed and incorrectly applied labels removed,” the company added.

What Elon Musk said about the bug

Musk also said that an “X spam/scam bot accidentally flagged many legitimate accounts” which was being fixed by the company.

This post by the billionaire amassed millions of views. A follower reacted to this post by saying that Musk can also fix the problem with the porn bots.

The follower posted: “Porn accounts should be flagged and there should be some kind of system where as a user, you can have in your settings to allow/not allow these flagged accounts to follow, repost or comment on a post.”

Another user replied: “Community Notes has also been hijacked. Fix that as well.”

X charges $1 to create new accounts in some markets

In October 2023, Musk asked new X users to pay $1 per year to post on the platform to tackle bots. However, he said that these users will be allowed to read other posts for free. The company also rolled out the test of this new programme in New Zealand and the Philippines, before launching it globally.
New users in New Zealand and the Philippines now have to pay $1 to create accounts on X.

Musk posted: “Read for free, but $1/year to write. It’s the only way to fight bots without blocking real users. This won’t stop bots completely, but it will be 1000X harder to manipulate the platform.”
