In Ayodhya, preparations are in full swing for the consecration of the Ram Mandir on January 22, 2024. Over 7,000 dignitaries and visitors are expected at the event, with the temple opening to the public afterward. The Ayodhya Development Authority foresees a daily influx of three to five lakh visitors, necessitating a robust network infrastructure to handle the surge.
Leading telecom operator Vi, with support from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), the Government, and local authorities, has undertaken significant enhancements. Vi upgraded its existing sites, ensuring network coverage across key areas. The Ayodhya Development Authority, Public Works Department, Airport Authority, and Police collaborated to facilitate approvals for tower placements, material movement, and manpower deployment, expediting the execution process.
Vi’s efforts include improving network coverage, increasing capacity, and enhancing backhaul connectivity. The augmentation spans all spectrum bands in Ayodhya, with new sites added and L2100 spectrum capacity upgraded or refarmed. Locations such as Ayodhya Railway Station, Ram Mandir Campus, the Airport, and connecting highways to Lucknow and Varanasi have seen network improvements.
The enhancements aim to provide Vi users with an elevated connectivity experience, encompassing high-speed data transfer, clear voice calls, and seamless video streaming. Vi’s collaboration with local authorities ensures the integration of network enhancements with the overall event infrastructure, emphasizing their commitment to delivering optimal connectivity to valued customers. As Ayodhya prepares for this significant event, Vi’s network enhancements stand as a testament to their dedication to meeting the connectivity needs of the growing influx of visitors and pilgrims.
