NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated Japan for achieving the historic milestone of soft landing on the Moon. Japan became the fifth country in history to reach the Moon after the US, erstwhile USSR, China and India to soft land on the lunar surface when its spacecraft without astronauts successfully made a soft landing on the lunar surface early Saturday.
“Congratulations Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and everyone at JAXA on achieving Japan’s first soft Moon landing,” he wrote on X. He also tweeted his wishes in Japanese.The PM also wished that Isro and the Japanese space agency will boost their space ties. “India looks forward to our cooperation in space exploration between Isro and JAXA,” he posted.
India had already landed its Chandrayaan-3 on the south pole side of the Moon last year where no other country has ever ventured till now.
