Google Maps is an indispensable tool for navigation, but occasionally, you might come across missing addresses or incorrect pin locations. The good news is that you can actively contribute to the accuracy of Google Maps by fixing these issues. Whether you’re using a computer or Android device, follow these simple steps to ensure that addresses are correctly represented on the map.
On computer:
Fix an address:
Organizations or governments can rectify multiple addresses on Google Maps through Google Maps Content Partners, provided they meet partner and content requirements.
On your computer, open Google Maps.
Search for the address.
Click “Suggest an edit” and then select “Wrong pin location or address.”
Enter the correct address information and click “Post.”
Add a new address:
On your computer, open Google Maps.
Click “Menu.”
At the bottom, click “Edit the map” and then select “Wrong pin location or address.”
Move and center the map on the address you want to add.
Enter the address information.
To submit, click “Post.”
To fix multiple addresses, repeat the process for each address individually.
On Android:
Fix an address:
On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app.
Search for the address.
Tap “Suggest an edit” and then choose “Change name or other details.”
Move the map to the center of the building.
Enter the correct address information and tap “Post.”
Add a new address:
On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app.
Tap “Contribute” and then select “Edit map” and “Fix an address.”
Move the map to the center of the building.
Enter the address information.
To submit, tap “Post.”
To fix multiple addresses, you must add each address individually with the steps above.
