NEW DELHI: On January 21, Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt Shankaracharya Vijayendra Saraswat Swamigal is expected to participate in the consecration ceremony. The procedure to place the idol inside the new temple’s sanctum sanctorum would begin on January 17. The trust is also contemplating to regulate the darshan of the Ram Lalla in the existing makeshift temple on January 20 and 21 to make the final preparations for hosting 8,000 high-profile guests. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath would address the guests once the ceremony concludes, before handing over the dais to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The total speech by the three would take 60-70 minutes.
Rai said that most of the ceremonies would be carried out in advance, and on January 22, only the final round of the proceedings would be conducted between 12.20pm and 1pm. Post the PM’s speech, the guests would be offered darshan of the deity. The trust would ensure all the 8,000 invited guests get darshan on the same day before leaving the temple premises. From January 23, common people and devotees would be allowed to get the darshan of the lord. “But since no darshan would be on offer for three days, we expect a huge rush from January 23, and hence, will have to regulate the crowd,” said a police officer deputed in Ayodhya.
Once the sunset takes place at 5.47pm on January 22, Rai appealed to the entire country to celebrate the return of Ram to his permanent place by lighting up five earthen lamps each. The entire Ram temple complex would be decorated with diyas in the evening and Ayodhya would celebrate Deepotsav. Rai insisted that the ceremonies would be led only by Shastri and Dixit while saints and seers from all the traditions, including Shaiva, Vaishnav, Shaakta, Patya, Sikh, Jain, Baudha, Dashnaam Shankar, Kabirpanthi, Valmiki, Nirankari, Namdhari, Mahima Samaj, Varkari among others will be present during the ceremony.
While Modi would be the second yajman on January 22, the trust is going to anoint a permanent yajman on Tuesday who would have to participate in all the ceremonies till the eyes of the idol are opened up for the first time post the ceremonies.
