ChatGPT has become one of the common tools that is being used by both regular users and professionals to get their queries answered in a quick and efficient manner. To make things easier, OpenAI also announced GPTs – a customised version of ChatGPT that users can create and use to get more specific results.
These GPTs are not only aimed at offering more custom-tuned for specific needs of the builder, but with GPT Store’s introduction, they can now get it published for public use as well.
OpenAI has also announced its own GPT Builder Tool for users to allow them create GPTs without the knowledge of programming languages or coding.
Builder revenue program
Later in the first quarter, OpenAI is set to introduce a GPT builder revenue program, enabling builders to earn income based on the usage of their Custom GPTs. The program will kick off in the United States initially and is anticipated to extend to additional regions in the upcoming months.
If you are wondering how to create custom GPT without coding, follow our step-by-step guide:
Prerequisites:
Before diving into the GPT creation process, ensure you have the following:

  • OpenAI Account: Make sure you have an active OpenAI account. If not, sign up at openai.com.
  • Plus or Enterprise Plan: Access to GPT customization is available for Plus and Enterprise users. If you haven’t subscribed to one of these plans, upgrade your account accordingly.

Getting StartedHead to chat.openai.com/gpts/editor or click on your name and select “My GPTs” to begin the journey of crafting your very own GPT.
Create a GPT

Select “Create a GPT” button from the top right corner to initiate the process.

In the Create tab, converse with the GPT Builder by providing instructions. For example, you can say, “Make a creative assistant who generates visuals for new products” or “Craft a software engineer to assist in formatting code.”

Configure it

Navigate to the Configure tab to set the name and description of your GPT. This is also where you can determine the actions you want your GPT to perform, such as browsing the web or creating images.

Publish it

When satisfied with your GPT, hit “Publish.” You can choose to share your creation with others if you wish, unlocking the potential for collaborative AI experiences.

Advanced settings

Delve deeper into the capabilities of your GPT with advanced settings available in the GPT Editor.

Configure tab

  • Adding an image: Incorporate visuals by instructing the GPT Builder to create an image or upload your own.
  • Additional instructions: Provide detailed behavioral guidelines for your GPT.
  • Prompt starters: Set examples of prompts for users to initiate conversations.
  • Knowledge: Offer additional context for the GPT to reference, noting that uploaded files may influence the output.
  • New Capabilities: Enable features like Web Browsing, DALL·E Image Generation, and Advanced Data Analysis to extend your GPT’s functionality.

In addition to this, you can also integrate third-party APIs by providing endpoint details, parameters and usage descriptions. You can also import actions from an OpenAPI schema if you’ve already built a plugin.
