Restore from the Recently Deleted folder
- In your profile, go to the hamburger menu and tap on “Settings.”
- Select “Account” and then “Recently Deleted.”
- Here, you’ll find posts and stories deleted within the last 30 days.
- Choose the content you wish to restore and tap “Restore” to bring it back to your profile.
It’s essential to understand the purpose of the ‘Recently Deleted’ folder. When content is deleted, Instagram stores it in this folder for up to 30 days before permanently removing it from the platform. After this period, deleted content becomes irretrievable. This folder acts as a temporary holding space for deleted material, offering a window for potential recovery.
To recover content from the ‘Recently Deleted’ folder, users can navigate to it, choose the deleted story, post, or reel they wish to recover and tap “Restore.” This action reinstates the chosen content back onto their profile, preventing its permanent deletion.
