Shah Rukh Khan‘s latest release Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is maintaining a strong hold at the box office. The film, which also stars Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal among others, has seen both ups and downs in just 12 days since its release. However, it managed to put up a good score on the New Year’s Eve.
According to Sacnilk, Dunki had an overall 30 per cent occupancy on its second Monday.The footfalls gradually increased from morning shows to afternoon, further extending to evening and night shows. As per early estimates, the movie is all set to earn 9.25 crore, taking its total box office collections to Rs 196.97 crore.

Dunki faced stiff competition as it clashed with Prabhas’ much-anticipated release Salaar. The clash impacted the overall collections, with both films striving for audience attention and box office dominance. Despite the competition, Shah Rukh Khan’s film managed to stand tall.

The film is a saga of friendships, borders, nostalgia for home and love. The film is Shah Rukh’s third and last release of 2023 following back-to-back action blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan. The story of Dunki, a comedy drama based on an illegal immigration technique ‘donkey flight’, is written by Hirani, Abhijaat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon.
