It’s disheartening to witness film clashes, inevitable given the 52 weeks a year has.And the year 2023 can be hailed as the year of the clashes, one has already seen clashes like Gadar 2 vs OMG 2, Barbie Vs Oppenheimer, Animal Vs Sam Bahadur and now it is time for the biggest clash possible between Shah Rukh Khan’ and Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki and Prashanth Neel and Prabhas’s Salaar: Part 1- Ceasefire. And as release day is coming closer the fight to get more screens will intensify.

Salaar | Telugu Song – Sooreede (Lyrical)

At this point in time, Shah Rukh Khan who has already delivered two of the biggest hits of his career this year in Jawan and Pathaan clearly has the edge over Salaar, as it has nearly twice the number of shows than the Prabhas starrer. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, advance booking for Dunki is currently going on for 9665 shows as compared to Salaar’s 4338 shows. While Dunki is releasing only in Hindi,Salaar is releasing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu Kannada and Malayalam and also has IMAX shows in Telugu and Hindi.
Even when it comes to advance sales for its day 1, Salaar has minted about Rs 6 crore from sale of 246881 tickets whereas Dunki has amassed Rs 7.37 crore from sales of 251333 tickets. Reports are doing the rounds about a tussle between the distributors of both the films over screen sharing, while Dunki distributors only want shows for themselves, Salaar distributors are open to have equal sharing between the two films. And currently multiplexes are given priority for advance booking and single screens owners are getting frustrated especially with SRK’s team as they are being allowed to cash in on the craze for his film.
