Jackie Shroff‘s journey to stardom was not without its share of struggles, as he navigated the competitive and unpredictable world of Bollywood. Before entering the film industry, he worked odd jobs, including being a travel agent and a local restaurant manager. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Jackie became a prominent leading man in the industry. However, Jackie recently revealed that he was secluded from Bollywood in the earlier days of his career.
While discussing about how he did not shy away from playing his age on the screen, Jackie told Bollywood Bubble that he did not see anything else than work. He believed in going to work, coming back home and sleep.
He then shared that he was not invited to parties by the industry people. However, he was bothered about that. He did not think or care about what people were thinking about him or not even considering him for social events. “When I used to stay in teen batti, I used to hear a lot from people. They did not even call me for parties, they don’t even call me today,” Jackie said.

Born Jaikishan Kakubhai Shroff on February 1, 1957, in Udgir, Maharashtra, Jackie had humble beginnings. Raised in a Gujarati family, Jackie’s initial years were marked by financial challenges.
His foray into the film industry began with small roles and appearances in Gujarati plays. His big break came in 1982 with the film Swami Dada, but it was Subhash Ghai’s Hero in 1983 that turned him into an overnight sensation.

His charismatic personality became a hallmark of his career. His rugged looks, distinctive style, and a unique blend of intensity and charm made him stand out. Whether portraying action-packed roles or emotional characters, Jackie displayed remarkable versatility. He effortlessly transitioned between genres, leaving an indelible mark in films like Karma, Parinda, and Rangeela.
On the work front, Jackie is currently seen sharing screen space with Neena Gupta in the film Mast Mein Rehne Ka, directed by Vijay Maurya. It is about two people who are old and live alone and who strike an unexpected connection and embark on a journey filled with laughter, adventure and fun.
