NEW DELHI: The BJP is likely to return to power in Rajasthan, wresting power from the ruling Congress, according to a poll of ten exit polls.
According to the poll of polls, the BJP is predicted to win 104 out of the 199 seats that went to polls in Rajasthan, clearing the 100-seat magic mark. Voting wasn’t held in one constituency due to the death of a Congress candidate.
Meanwhile, the ruling Ashok Gehlot-led Congress is predicted to bag just 85 seats. The remaining seats will be divided by other parties and Independents.
If the predictions hold true, the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government would fail to buck the revolving door trend in the state, where the ruling party is voted out by the people every five years.
