Black Friday Sale is live: 4 Google Shopping features that can come in handy – Times of India

[ad_1]

Black Friday Sale is now live and several online and offline retail stores are offering a wide range of deals and discounts across all categories. Google has recently introduced several new features to enhance the shopping experience for U.S. consumers. These innovations aim to empower shoppers during the holiday season and beyond, making it easier to find great deals, explore gift ideas, and safeguard payment information.
Filter for small businesses
Around 84% of people prioritise supporting local and small businesses, Google has incorporated a “small business” filter into Search on both desktop and mobile platforms, as well as into Maps on mobile.Shoppers can now easily discover and patronise small businesses, including e-commerce brands, local establishments, and sellers on platforms like Etsy and eBay.
Deals in one place
For the convenience of holiday shoppers, Google has created a new deals destination, exclusive to U.S. consumers. This feature allows users to explore promotions in a single location. Whether it’s Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales from major retailers, designer labels, or local businesses, users can find them all by searching “shop deals” or specifying a category like “shop sneaker deals.” Moreover, shoppers can set notifications for price drops by clicking the bell icon next to a product name.
Gift inspiration on search
To assist users in finding the perfect gifts, Google’s Generative AI in Search generates gift ideas based on user preferences. Users can search for specific categories, such as “gifts for a 7-year-old who wants to be an inventor,” to receive tailored suggestions. This feature, available to those who opted into the Search Generative Experience (SGE) in Search Labs in the U.S., provides a personalised and efficient way to discover unique presents for everyone on your list.
Secure shopping with Virtual Card Numbers
In response to the rising threat of online fraud, Google Pay now offers American Express and Capital One cardholders in the U.S. the ability to create virtual card numbers. This added layer of security ensures that personal payment details are not shared with merchants during checkout, safeguarding users’ financial information in the event of a data leak or hack. Online shoppers can utilise this feature on Android or Chrome desktops, enhancing the security of their payment transactions.
