In that regard, the Federal Income Tax Department has long insisted on linking the Aadhaar number with the bank card. The deadline was March 31 last year. The central government had said that if the bank card number is not linked to the Aadhaar number by March 31, 2022, a fine of up to Rs 1,000 will be levied.
In this case, the deadline for linking the Aadhar number with the Ban card number expires today, and now the Ministry of Finance has given an extension of time till March 31, 2023. However, it also imposes various conditions.
That is, for the next three months from tomorrow (Apr. 1, 2022), those who link the Aadhar number with the PAN card number will be fined Rs.500. Three months later, Ban Aadhar said it would impose a fine of Rs 1,000 on those who join.
