RRR box office collection Day 3: Jr NTR, Ram Charan’s film roars loud on Sunday

Director SS Rajmouli’s RRR starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan had a monumental Sunday (March 27) across the globe. Reportedly, the Sunday collection was better than the opening day collection in several centers.

Director SS Rajamouli’s RRR was no less than a masterpiece and had a stupendous Day 1 at the box office. According to trade reports, many centers across the globe registered record collections on Sunday with some of them even better than Day 1 collection. The epic period drama film featured Ram Charan as Alluri Seetharama Raju and Jr NTR as Komaram Bheem.


After multiple delays over the past two years, director SS Rajamouli’s RRR finally saw the light of the day on March 25. The big-budget film was in the making for nearly 3.5 years. The shooting and the release were postponed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala took to Twitter to reveal that the Hindi version of RRR is heading for Rs 30 crore nett on Sunday (March 27). He wrote, “#RRRMovie Hindi rocking at the Sunday Box office. Heading for Rs 30 cr Nett (sic).”

In North America, the film has managed to collect over Rs $11 million USD (Rs 83 crore) between March 23 to March 27.

RRR registered a whopping Rs 1.23 crore on Saturday (March 26) in Chennai, thereby taking the total collection to Rs 2.4 crore.”


Director SS Rajamouli’s RRR is a war drama set in the pre-Independence era. The film brought together Jr NTR and Ram Charan for the first time. The film was made on a whopping budget of Rs 450 crore by DVV Danayya under DVV Entertainment. Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Olivia Morris, Ray Stevenson, and Alison Doody played important roles in the film.
